Presentation of the catalogue of agricultural producers as part of the ‘Made in Ukraine’ policy

On 22 January, an interdepartmental meeting of agricultural producers in the Kyiv region was held in Kyiv to discuss the prospects for the development of agricultural processing. In addition to businessmen from the Kyiv region, the heads of agricultural enterprises, food producers and agro-processors from other regions took a part at the event.

The following was presented at the meeting:

• catalogue of agricultural processing equipment manufacturers, created as an element of the «Made in Ukraine» policy for the development of Ukrainian manufacturers;
• state programmes that apply to the relevant equipment;
• legislative initiatives for the agro-industrial complex.

Special attention at the event was given to the practical experience of using domestic equipment in agro-industrial production. Representative of Ukrainian suppliers of technological equipment for grain and oilseed processing – CEO of AGRO-SIMO-MASHBUD Mykhailo Babych.

The following people joined the discussion of the meeting's agenda: Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration; Nataliia Gavatiuk, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration; Oleksandr Haida, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy; Dmytro Kysilevskyi, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development; Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The modern agricultural sector requires not only innovation and technology, but also coordinated interaction between the government and agribusiness. As a result of a recent meeting between representatives of the government, agribusiness and the expert community, clear focus was placed on the importance of such interaction.
