A practical perspective on the future of the agricultural industry from Polish farmers and large agricultural holdings is the development of grain processing into useful and popular products. Actually, large Polish companies are focused on a strategy to promote local finished products made from different grain types.
Overall, the global market for grain processing products has grown significantly in the last decade. This trend is caused by several factors, including population growth, rising income levels in developing countries, changing consumers' preferences towards ‘healthy food’ products, more convenient and instant ready-to-eat products, as well as the development of grain processing technologies. There has also been significant growth in trade in grain processing products across Europe. This shows they rational use imported grain, including Ukrainian grain, for processing it into various products. Grain exports from Ukraine to EU countries continue despite concerns raised by the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food. In fact, in the 2024-2025 marketing year (July-January 2024), exports of grains and oilseeds earned Ukraine more than $11.2 billion, which is more than in the same period last year. Although agricultural exports from Ukraine had already fallen by 9% in the first half of 2025 due to war in Ukraine, limited port operations, lower harvests and other factors. However, such a percentage decrease is not critical at this stage.
Taking into account that Ukraine has traditionally produced a wide range of grain processing equipment, today, along with grain supplies, many European companies also purchase technological equipment for grain processing from Ukrainian manufacturers.
Thus, In July this year, a grain processing mill was launched and put into operation in Poland, it's designed and equipped entirely with Ukrainian equipment from «AGRO-SIMO-MASHBUD». This is a buckwheat and millet mill producing high-quality buckwheat and millet groats (capacity – up to 50 tonnes of grain per day).
The new plant has located its facilities in a four-storey production building in accordance with the project and installation documentation. A complete set of equipment has been supplied, including main technological, transport and aspiration equipment, weighing, sorting and packing equipment. It is important to note that this is already the seventh grain mill launched by the SIC AGRO-SIMO-MASHBUD in Poland. These include three buckwheat cereal processing plants, two oat cereal processing plants, and two legume processing lines.
Modern integrated technological solutions, turnkey equipment sets and a professional approach at each stage of grain mill construction are the ideal formula for success, ensuring high economic performance from the start of the enterprise's activities.
