Due to climate change over the last 10 years, lentil crops harvest have been increasing every year as they are more drought resistance than other cereal crops. As a result, there is an increasing demand for equipment for processing lentils into groats. And it's no surprise, as lentils are one of the most popular legume crops in the world. This nutrition product for Ukraine was mainly an export trade good. It is widespread in the East, and now the development of lentil production has been taken up in Canada and range of European countries. Recently, lentils have been enjoying a gradual recovery of their previous popularity in the Ukrainian diet, and for good reason.
This crop has a high amount of protein, which is easily absorbed in the human body. There's also a rich ‘health pharmacy’ in the kind of vitamins and trace elements like potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and iron, omega-6, vitamin B1, etc. That is why the product adjusts metabolism, charges energy, restores liver cells, removes toxic substances from the body. Lentils are also very special in that they do not accumulate nitrates and radionuclides, so they can be called an ecological product. One more of the advantages of lentils as opposed to other legumes is that they cook quickly and do not require soaking.
Well, it's easy to understand lentil popularity, but what about lentil processing? Earlier for lentil processing our company used a universal Shelling machine МШХ, designed for husking (hulling) of barley, wheat, millet and legume grains, as well as for grinding and polishing of groats. This productive machine works well, but it doesn't make large outlet of lentil finished product. For this reason the specialists of SIC ‘AGRO-SIMO-MASHBUD’ started to develop an exclusive equipment for lentil peeling a year ago, it's Horizontal Peeling Machine for legumes. A pilot model of the author's equipment is already undergoing bench tests today. No aspiration equipment is connected to the machine yet (this experience can be seen in the video as an exit of dust through the protective cover), but at the moment a successful test of the hulling quality and the good yield of the finished product has been carried out.
This is the case when a unique machine is already waited by a line of customers practically out from under the drawings of experienced designers.
